VHW Corporation

VHW Corporation is the base of operations used by the main character in my unauthorized prequel to Joe Michael Straczynski's epic saga Babylon 5. Hopefully, my work will soon be authorized, but I am unable to get a connection or an address. Therefore, let this site be a beacon that also says; "Mr. Straczynski: E-mail me! I want to revitalize the Babylon 5 franchise with my fresh, bizarre, curious, etc.; whichever may apply; notions."

Wonder what `VHW' is the initials? It is a pearl in my books. Can I be expected to give away everything on this web site?

T here are many possible prequels to Babylon 5. The first two books of J. Gregory Keyes' epic trilogy of the psi corpsSee footnote 1 have helped me `reverse engineer' the authorized Babylon 5 culture back toward this time, the dawning of the 21st century. In my notes from that series, I have "May 2055" as the first known telepathySee footnote 2 even though it was `proven' in 2115. 2055 Is a time that many of you whom read these words may expect to see, but the past is not a guarantee of future performance.

Even though my prequel goes back to the beginning; I mean THE BEGINNING; prequels can be inserted anyplace where it suits the author. However, since my prequel does go back to the very beginning, no one can possibly write a `prequel' to mine; not without defining a previous universe or using some other head game, but that is not my concern. I go back, bold as brass, to put meaning to my "In The Beginning" chapter. I borrow what I think I know of cosmology and Prof. Gerald Schroeder's wonderful concept uniting cosmology and The Bible, and The Holy Scriptures, to begin my first prequel.

If there is a `prequel of prequels for almost all of sci-fi,' this is it! The text is from the WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS [SubDoc]ument file, "Genesis.INC", as used in the first of this saga. As such, you will need your browser's [Back] button to return.

In the days of prequels to Star Wars and Star Trek, it may be only natural that any science fiction/fantasy work get at least one. The future setting almost begs for an explanation of how we get from our mundane, present existences to there and then.

Actually, here are a few ideas that may fill in the setting. They may be a prequel to most of my prequel:
.     The beginnings of the `first ones' could tell more of how the Vorlons and the Shadows, and the others, come to be the way they are. How did the Shadows and the Vorlons get into their contest that the puppet worlds paid the tab. See how this happened on day two as Genesis One continues... (You will need your browser's [Back] button to return.)

.     What of Lorien? He was the eldest. He was the first of the first ones.

.     The first ones are very old races. They account for "billions" of years out of the cosmos' roughly 15 billion years of age. Certainly there are stories that explain why the Vorlons and Shadows are the two first ones remaining.

.     The episodes "Babylon Squared" and "War Without End" cited a major war a thousand years prior to Babylon 5. A prequel could tell how Jeffery David Sinclair rode the Babylon 4 space station back through time, fought that war, and lived as Valen and had descendants on Minbar. He was the `Minbari not born on Minbar.' That story could begin near where the episode `War Without End' ended; when the Babylon 4 station was being pulled back through time by the great machine on Epsilon 3. This could have elements of what The Legends of the Rangers may have hinted.

.     The techno-mages, introduced in one episode of the original series, have their influence. There is a story how Wierden, their greatest, got into the Eye of Z'ha'dum. Jeanne Cavelos's techno-mage trilogy hinted that, as well as being another possible prequel to Babylon 5's successor, Crusade.

.     There is a tantalizing hint as to how telepathy came to be in many episodes, suggesting the Vorlons complicity. As previously mentioned, the smoking gun is in J.Gregory Keyes psi corps trilogy. 2055 is not that far away.

Any number of possible pasts to Babylon 5 could be conjured. The trick is to spin plausible histories.

The prequel, Ellayn O'Kosh, is in final edit pass (as of April 30, 2002). It is getting some refinements to make a better saga and more refined Science Fiction. Watch this space for more news...

Ellayn O'Kosh is a prequel. It is also biographical, but suspends at a certain point. I am not certain whether there will be a two-book epic with this character, or it is a legitimate trilogy.

Since this story's In The Beginning chapter tells of creation and how the universe and all within came about, it must discuss the bringing forth of non-corporeal intelligent beings. I used a lot of what Scripture said about creation, and angels are a part of this universe. One angel, in particular, is part of my story.

With an angel as a character in Ellayn O'Kosh, it begs a crossover event with a non-related, very popular television series. It also led to the end of Ellayn O'Kosh in The_End.INC. (Of course, since this link uses a file that will be part of the respective tome, you will need your browser's [Back] button to return.)

The crossover series? Glad you asked; and this is not the spin of a certain commercial running early spring 2002. That series is Touched By An Angel (TBAA). Have I arouse your interest in how TBAA and Babylon 5 could be stitched together? If so, see The End (remember. [Back] button).

The "teaser" to the final installment will lead this ending of the last book of Ellayn O'Kosh; which may be an excellent title. That part uses identifiers that I am not at liberty to publish, so for now, it is expressly eliminated from this web sample. The remaining indirections may be insufficient diversions, but less than as many have published in TBAA Fan Fiction.

Footnote: 2Although telepathy is a common effect within the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genrés, Mr. Keyes had based his work on Mr. Straczynski's outlines. I do not have that `luxury.'
